POISON SUMMER
Melanie wants a divorce from Rob, but reluctantly agrees to a second honeymoon instead. One last chance to make their disastrous marriage work.
Perhaps she can put her problems aside. Forget the past. Forget his drinking. Forget the lies.
The Greek island of Aftonisi is idyllic but, no matter how hard Melanie tries, it all seems grey, tedious, and uninspiring.
Until she falls for Marios, and it’s like the sun has finally come out.
But sometimes, the brighter the sun, the darker the shadows. Sometimes, no matter how hard you try, the past still clings resolutely to your future. Sometimes the biggest problem of all is you.

THE STORY BEHIND THE STORY
“Once upon a time, I lived on a Greek island…”
The End
Poison Summer was inspired by a myriad stories, whispers, recollections, anecdotes and observations garnered during my extensive travels over many years throughout Greece, a country I love and whose people I hold a deep affection for.
All it takes is a drift of wild herbs on the mountainside, the tinkling of a goat’s bell, a ripple across the Aegean, an unexpected shadow crossing the sun, and my imagination is sparked alight.
